Clasical Car Auction orginized and sponsored by TR Classic Car Magazine has been done in November 23rd 2008 in Bosphorus University Campus in Istanbul. 130 classical cars were presented to the buyers.
TR Classic Car Magazine owner Bulent Aydın, said the classicals were collected from private garages, private collections.
The interest on the clasical cars increases in the world as well as in Turkey. The 3rd Classical Car Auction organized by TR Classic Car Magazine has got high interest of the classical lovers. 130 classical cars and a Cessna type plane were in exhibition. 1949 model 2-door Dodge Coronet, unique in Turkey, Plymouth Special De Luxe, 1956 Plymouth Belvedere, 1954 model Ford Customline, 1968 model Anadol A1 1200cc, 1977 Cessna R172 plane were some exemples of the exhibition. The auction hall was full, however the sales were not so high. During the first session only one classical was sold ouit of 55 cars. This was a 1956 Plymouth Belvedere which was sold at 27.000 TL. In the second session, 1957 model Plymouth Fury was sold at 37.000 TL, 1979 model Triumph Spitfire Convertable at 16.000 TL and 1974 model Rolls Royce Corniche at 105.000 TL.
No one has coted for the most expensive piece of the auction, an 1958 model Mercedes Benz 190 SL at 155.000 TL, as well as the dinasty car of Princess Sureyya of Shah Pevlevi of Iran, 1968 model Lincoln at 60.000 TL.
